Digital Transformation at Sun Life

I joined Sun Life’s GTVRE team as a Digital Transformation Coordinator with a fairly open brief: find where AI and automation actually save the team time, then go do it.

So I built agents in Copilot Studio, developed Power BI reporting, and automated a handful of workflows people had been doing by hand. I also competed in the Intern Innovation Challenge, which meant pitching an AI solution to business leadership rather than to engineers, and those are two completely different presentations.

The thing I didn’t expect is that enterprise AI adoption is a strategy problem wearing a technology costume. Building the agent was the easy week. The hard part was working out which process was worth automating at all, proving it in numbers the team already trusted, and getting people to change how they work on a Tuesday.

It turned into a return offer. I’m now full time on the SunAdvantage team, working on group benefits for small businesses.
